Recording Sessions: Sound Like a Pro

We  set up our space with professional equipment and special microphones to give you an authentic recording session experience.

Our current base pricing is for voice recordings only, where you, the singer, will use an existing music track that you've purchased and prepared for the occasion. Don't worry if you need a little help with that; we're here to guide you through the process!

This service is offered primarily for vocal stage students and family members, but can be offered to refereed clients.

If you are a currently enrolled student,  schedule with Liz directly during your next lesson.

If you are a new client referred by a current student, please complete the form in full so we can contact you to schedule and provide an accurate quote for your project.

Pricing structure doesn't apply to live instrument recordings.

Our studio recording sessions are available on Saturdays by appointment only.

Prices based on recording w/ sound track no live instruments

Studio time $80 / Hour

Starts @ $80

Our studio time is available at $80  per hour. This rate should be added to your chosen mixing, mastering, and editing services. If your session runs a little longer than planned, any additional time is charged proportionally at that same $80 per hour rate.

Raw Recording

With your studio time, you'll receive a raw recording of your best take of the song (s) your recorded during your session. This is an unedited and unprocessed audio recording, capturing your voice exactly as it sounded. It's a wonderful tool for tracking the evolution of your voice during your vocal lessons or for a voice diagnostic, especially if your vocal technique and intonation are already quite strong.

Mixing, Mastering, and Edition

We understand that every voice and song is unique, which is why we offer different levels of post-production to truly polish your sound. The times included in these options are generally sufficient for a standard song, typically 3 to 5 minutes long, especially when you've practiced and prepared diligently before coming to the studio. Should your song require a little extra attention, any additional editing time will be charged at a prorated rate of $50 per hour.

Basic Mix & Mastering

$30 / song

We'll take the best take from your session and focus on sound blending, balancing, and mastering. This option, which includes up to 30 minutes of work, is perfect when your original recording flows smoothly with minimal errors, as it doesn't involve any detailed editing.

Voice Editing

$100 / song

add $100 to your studio time charge for each song you want edited:  this option includes the basic mix and mastering+ plus up tp 1 hour of voice cleanup consisting of  basic pitch and tone correction to your voice and make timing adjustments, all working with the best take from your session.

The Works

$250/ song

add $250 to your studio time. It includes Mix and Mastering + Voice editing +   up to three hours of comprehensive editing. This allows us to meticulously cut and combine the best parts from everything you recorded, to create the best version of your song,  refine tone and pitch, modulate your voice, correct vibrato, and even make basic tempo adjustments to create a truly polished final product.

ADd a video

We can capture a visual memory of your recording session. With a video taken during your time in the studio.

Basic Video Option, Remember the experience

$100

Get a 10 minute recording of best moments of your session experience with the raw sound. The sound won't be synchronized to a specific edited song, but it's a lovely way to look back on your time in the studio.

Edited Video Option

$250 / song

If you'd like a more refined video, you can add $250 to your sound selections. This includes up to four hours of dedicated editing for video and sound synchronization, along with titles, transitions, and effects. Typically, four hours is ample time to create a simple video for a standard 3-5 minute song using the effects and transitions available in our video editing program. Any additional editing time for video will also be charged at a $50 per hour rate.

Importante procedure notes

For the best recording environment, only the person recording can be in the studio. If you decide to bring a guest, please be aware that any sounds they produce and capture will be your responsibility.

For parents bringing students, we kindly ask that you drop them off and pick them up at their scheduled time. We also deeply appreciate your respect for other singers' scheduled times; please avoid ringing the bell or entering the studio if it's not your designated appointment.

Song and Video Sharing

We want to make sure you get your precious recordings easily! Please bring a flash drive with you to receive a copy of your video or song files. If you don't have one, we can send electronic copies of your sound files via email or message, and your videos will be published directly to our YouTube channel, @lizvocalstage9942, for easy viewing and sharing

We also love to promote our studio and showcase the talent that comes through our doors. With your permission, we might feature all or parts of your recording session here on our YouTube channel (@lizvocalstage9942). Please let us know if you authorize us to use your recording for promotional purposes.

Tips for a Truly Successful Recording Session

To help you make the absolute most of your time with us, here are a few tips:

  • Be on time: Always check your GPS for traffic before heading out. If you arrive late, your session will still conclude at the originally scheduled time.
  • Quiet arrival: There's usually a recording in progress, so please wait in your car if you arrive early, and we'll call you in when it's your turn.
  • Silence devices: Please ensure all electronic devices are silenced and in airplane mode to prevent any interference.

  • Instrumental track readiness: Have your instrumental file downloaded and saved in an easily shareable location.
  • Know your song: Identifying the key and Beats-Per-Minute (BPM) of your song before your session will save valuable time.
  • Focus, focus, focus: Remember, only the person recording should be in the studio. Guests can sometimes be a distraction and might inadvertently create unwanted noise.
  • Protect your ears: Listen to the music at a moderate level in your headphones to avoid ear fatigue duri

  • Memorize lyrics: Knowing your lyrics by heart allows you to focus fully on interpretation and emotion, which truly comes across in a recording.
  • Hydrate: Bring water to stay hydrated throughout your session; it's so important for your vocal health!
  • Practice makes perfect: By the time you come to the studio, you should be able to perform your song in your sleep. If any parts still feel challenging, consider simplifying them slightly for the recording to ensure a smooth session.

  • Timing is everything: Practicing with a metronome will significantly improve your timing, and again, knowing the BPM of your song is incredibly helpful.
  • Rest up: Get plenty of rest the day before your session, and allow your ears to rest too!
  • Great tone at the source: Aim for the best possible tone while tracking your vocals. If it sounds fantastic during recording, it will sound even better during the mixing stage.
